It feels incredible to read a beautiful poem inspired by Rumi--or as we more commonly call him in Persian, Molavi or Molaana. Those powerful few lines have inspired not only poets and writers, but painters, rappers, and so many others. One I particularly love is a few lines from the rapper Sorena:

"We are of opposing natures, so let us meet in a land of no natures."

Thanks Mahdi for the rich comment. I've heard it also in a Nick Mulvey track ‘Meet me there’

where trenched perspective is left far behind.

Reading this a week late, but that means I get to enjoy poetry and tunes and breakfast in bed on Mothers Day. Thanks Síodhna.

I'm madly in love with the fact that you record audio, Síodhna. The soul of a writers work emerges in the telling. And your writing aches with soulful depths. I have come across your work a couple of times and have not been able to sit with it as I have wanted to up to now. And finally getting to comment, as well. Thank you for your soulful words.

Oh wow, Sylvia, what a beautiful comment to read. That's a really lovely thing to say. I will do the same with your work this very evening.

There is so much here. From losing one of my closest friends at 30, I feel your anguish. From seeing another narcissist enter the Oval Office, I pray for the young women in the US. I’ve not seen Adolescence, but as a teacher, and as a mother of a teenage boy, I too know the quiet, unspoken battles of growing up in a world that often misunderstands and undermines. One thing I do know, presence matters more than perfection. And that's all we can do, show up, make our boys feel comfortable, safe, the spaces we create, in the love we give, the conversations we have, the truths we teach - we do make a difference.

What a thoughtful comment, Carolyn. The widened bandwidth that presence allows us have, the nuanced subtle shades makes for a richer print. Such hopeful messages from nature these Spring days. I'm listening to her. Love your writing!

What can we do? Praise life and follow the sun as it comes and goes. And always remember our loved ones.

This poem and the pain, a juxtaposition but not, because what else is life. Beautiful. And very sorry for this loss in your life.

“meet me now— here

in the sky. Beyond”

Such a spectacular statement for the ones we hold in our hearts. 🫶❤️‍🩹🫶 It is why I have my head in clouds a lot.

Definitely trying unreal times. Always enjoy your spoken word.

"tales in braille, in veins— mirrored

to witness—

a breathing back to life "

These lines feel like the heart of this to me - the mystery, the pulse, the raw energy of this rhythm of nature. And the Rumi reference- yes, meet me there!

I felt it viscerally yesterday morning Sarah, a patch I walk most mornings instantly came alive to the senses, as if I were on a tall precipice at the edge of the world. I'm including a track which references that Rumi quote I love.

For this threshold time. https://youtu.be/KHqsz81L_jI?si=2gLTrN-1Kml0vy_0

This was such a beautiful poem for the vernal equinox, and your write-up below it really touched me. What can we do, what will we say, how do we love, amidst all the beauty and all the suffering. Thank you for sharing.

What can we do? Thanks so much for picking this out Stephanie. In my thoughts, and my words, in my work and my life. What will I do in the world that meets me?
